About 900 New York City restaurant owners have sent a letter to the New York City Council urging members to oppose a bill that would loosen the cap on fees third-party delivery services can charge restaurants. The bill, Int. 0813, which was introduced by New York City Council Member Robert Holden in early November, would allow third-party food delivery services to charge restaurants higher fees than currently permitted by law. In August 2021, the New York City Council passed a bill that put a cap on the fees third-party delivery companies can charge restaurants in New York City.
